Breathwork at Hāmama
Breathwork is a powerful practice that involves consciously controlling your breath to enhance physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It encompasses techniques from simple deep breathing to more structured methods like holotropic or pranayama breathing.
Incorporating breathwork into your weekly routine can significantly improve stress management, increase energy levels, and foster emotional clarity.
Regular practice helps to calm the nervous system, enhances mindfulness, and can lead to deeper self-awareness and healing. By dedicating time each week to breathwork, you cultivate a vital tool for self-regulation and overall health, making it easier to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and balance.
This is why we have 2 weekly practices available at Hāmama.
We also offer private one-on-one sessions with our Breathwork Facilitators.
Help Your Nervous System
Breathwork directly influences the nervous system by promoting the balance between the sympathetic (fight-or-flight) and parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) responses. When you engage in breathwork, you activate the parasympathetic system, which helps calm the body, reduce stress, and lower anxiety levels. After a session, you feel pure bliss, and your heart chakra opens, allowing you to feel clarity and pure love for yourself and your life.
This practice is essential for those facing stress, anxiety, depression, life changes, sleep issues, and uncertainty. Focusing on controlled breathing will lower cortisol levels, improve mood, and enhance emotional regulation. Breathwork also encourages mindfulness, helping you stay grounded in the present, which can alleviate feelings of overwhelm and foster resilience.
Regular weekly practice will lead to better sleep, improved focus, and a greater sense of peace during challenging times.

Surrender and get 'high'
"Getting high" with breathwork refers to the euphoric and altered states of consciousness that can be achieved through specific breathing techniques. At Hāmama, we practice Somatic Breathwork, which can lead to feelings of lightness, heightened awareness, and emotional release, similar to a natural high.
The only way to describe it is to partake in the practice and fully surrender to what the body feels. Many people see colors, feel tingly, and enjoy the multiple dimensions they travel to during the session.
We recommend trying three sessions.
